Bronze Silver & Gold Awards

The Challenge poster.jpg

This is a new initiative, which was actually launched in October 2004 but funding was not fully available to go nationwide with it.    Pilots were run in Lothians and Coatbridge and proved very successful.Challenge is that a participant is required to successfully attain a level of skill on the green doing specified exercises and also correctly answer 4 questions as selected by the assessor.

The questions and skills required become more difficult for each level you are trying to attain ie Bronze to Silver to Gold.

Club coaches will assess the bronze level within a club, with Area Coaches assessing the Silver level and Regional Coaches assessing the Gold level.

Interested?  Are you good enough to take on the challenge?

Email us on info@scottishbowlscoaching.co.uk for more information.

If you think you are good enough then you should contact your club coach, pay him your £3.00 fee for an application pack and the coach will contact the scheme co-ordinator Robert McGregor for a pack to be sent out to you.    It costs £3.00 per level, so you can have as many attempts at each level until you attain it for one payment.    To attain all 3 awards, gaining a diploma for each level and a blazer metal badge and the recognition that goes with it, £9.00 is all that it would cost you to "beat the challenge"!

If your club does not have a coach - why not?   Do you want to become a coach?

For more information on the above scheme or for an application form for the coaching courses in your area please email us on info@scottishbowlscoaching.co.uk

Watch out for the posters arriving in your club very soon for prominent display
